The Local Play, ‘Black Wall Street,’ returns to PBC
February 28 @ 7:00 pm
One event on February 29, 2020 at 2:00pm
Locally written, locally produced, local actors–but an international story. The hit play Black Wall Street is back for two performances during Black History Month in West Palm Beach (WPB)! It sold out four performances in WPB and Riviera Beach in 2018 and then, for a Juneteenth celebration last year, was recruited to do three shows in Tampa. Back here again, there will be two performances this month, both at the Hilton Theater at the Center for Creation Education in the Northwood neighborhood of WPB: at 7 p.m. on February 28 and at 2 p.m. on February 29. Tickets are $5 for students, $15 for adults and $25 for VIPs, which includes special seating and a gift bag. Click here for tickets. Ever heard of it? In 1921, an angry white mob in Tulsa, Okla., destroyed a successful black area known as Greenwood, burning much of it to the ground and killing thousands of people. The area came to be known as ‘Black Wall Street.’ Learn more here.
