An impressive list of local, state, national and global leaders, business owners, award-winning communicators, star athletes, public officials–all will be gathering today for ‘Elevate Now International Symposium 2019,’ a conference that seeks to connect the African diaspora in fundamental ways.
The main point: using business, trade and investments to connect leaders from the United States, Africa and the United Nations. They’ll be here. In Palm Beach County (PBC). Organizers say there will be panel discussions and speakers about global investment opportunities in these targeted areas:
- Trade and Investments
- Women’s Empowerment
- Youth Empowerment
- The God Factor
The God Factor? That’s the area of the well-connected conference sponsor, Dr. Forson Swanzy, a Royal Palm Beach-based minister and founder of Forerunners Generation International and Swanzy Ministries who is a native of Ghana, west Africa. Other speakers in those targeted areas include:
- Folorunso Alakija, the Nigerian billionaire businesswoman who is one of the richest black women in the world via her work in the fashion, oil and printing industries. Learn more about her here.
- Ray Lewis, the NFL player who is a winner on all the big platforms: All-American, MVP, Super Bowl–and now, author. His book I Feel Like Going On: Life, Game and Glory was published in 2015.

- Ishmael Dodoo, policy advisor to the Office of the United Nations Secretary General’s Special Advisor for the Sahel.
Locally, PBC Mayor Mack Bernard (District 7) will bring greetings while state Senator Bobby Powell (District 30) will speak on youth empowerment. Other participating locals include: West Palm Beach-based attorney Selesia Smith-Gordon; Denise Albritton, owner and CFO of Bus One LLC; and Shenetria Moore, owner of SHE Holdings LLC, a marketing, consulting and publishing company.
