There was lots of skills and talent in the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens on Sunday—and not just on the football field. Just imagine: there were some 50,000 people there, in attendance, who are college-educated, in college, planning to go, have already been. They were all there for the Orange Bowl Classic between Florida A & M University (FAMU) in Tallahassee and Jackson State University (JSU) in Mississippi, two well-known Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU). And everybody—the cheerleaders, the bandmembers, the audience—seemed skilled, talented, smart. And interesting. And fun. On both sides. The other thing that was common? Lots of big ole black girl booties and lots of nappy hair! All carried and worn with pride. Naturally! And, again: on both sides, FAMU and JSU, on and off the field. Loved it!
